About Us
A Glasgow college built around practical training
We deliver 12-week vocational training programmes to international participants who want hands-on skills and the experience of studying in the UK.
Our approach
Twelve weeks, spent mostly on your feet
Our programmes run for 12 weeks and are taught in person at our Glasgow campus. Groups are small, the workshops are equipped to UK industry standards, and the tutors have worked in the trades they teach. Participants who complete a programme receive a John Wheatley College certificate of completion.
Our values
Practical before theoretical
Our programmes are built around the workshop. If a skill can be taught by doing it, that is how we teach it.
Small groups, named tutors
Class sizes are kept small so every participant gets time on the equipment and a tutor who knows their work.
Honest about what we offer
We are a training provider, not an immigration adviser or an employer. We are careful to say only what is true.
Support from arrival onwards
Accommodation arranged before you arrive, and a named contact in student services for your whole stay.

What we are, and what we are not
John Wheatley College is a private vocational training provider based in Glasgow. We deliver short, practical courses. We are not a university, not a licensed visa sponsor, and not an employment agency.
Successful applicants receive an official course offer letter and supporting enrolment documents that may be used in a Standard Visitor visa application for short-term study in the UK.
This programme is short-term vocational training. It does not lead to sponsorship, settlement, or permission to work in the UK, and the College does not guarantee employment.
